Rice Krispie Treats are a nostalgic dessert. Classic Rice Krispie Treats are my forever favorite, but I also like trying new recipes like: Oreo Rice Krispie Treats, Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats, Biscoff Rice Krispie Treats, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Rice Krispie Treats.

I also LOVE these Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats. The strawberry flavor is SO good…not a fake strawberry flavor, but a REAL strawberry flavor. The treats taste like homemade strawberry ice cream!

To get the best strawberry flavor, I pulverize freeze dried strawberries in a food processor to make a strawberry powder. Stir the powder into the melted marshmallow mixture and the rice Krispie treats turn a pretty pink color.

The rice krispie treats are BURSTING with strawberry flavor. You will be amazed!! They are the perfect no-bake treats for spring, summer, Valentine’s Day, or any day!

Every time I make them people can’t get over the intense strawberry flavor! Some even say they remind them of the classic strawberry ice cream bars with the crunchy coating. They are a MUST make for strawberry lovers!

Ingredients

You only need 5 ingredients!

  • Freeze-dried strawberries– you need a 1 oz bag of freeze dried strawberries. You can find them at most grocery stores. You can also buy them HERE.
  • Butter– I use salted butter. If you want to use unsalted butter, just add a little salt to the recipe.
  • Mini marshmallows– you need a 16 oz bag PLUS 2 cups mini marshmallows. Don’t skimp on the marshmallows, you want the treats to be GOOEY!
  • Vanilla extract– just a splash!
  • Crispy rice cereal– You can find Rice Krispies Cereal (or generic crispy rice cereal) at any grocery store in the cereal aisle.

How to Make Strawberry Rice Krispie Treats

  • Grease a 9×13-inch pan (or 9×9-inch pan for thicker treats) and set aside. You can line the pan with parchment paper, if desired.
  • In a blender or food processor, blend the freeze-dried strawberries to form a fine powder. Set aside.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add 16 oz of marshmallows and stir until completely melted. I love when the marshmallows start to get gooey!!
  • Remove from heat and add the strawberry powder and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. The mixture will smell AMAZING!
  • Gently stir in the cereal and remaining 2 cups of marshmallows. Go ahead and taste a little bit. WOW is right!
  • Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and press gently with spatula to flatten.
  • Cool in pan for about 30 minutes before cutting and serving.

How to Store

You can keep the treats in an airtight container (or in the pan covered tightly with plastic wrap) for up to 3 days. Do not refrigerate the treats. Refrigerating will dry them out and make them too hard and brittle.

Variations

  • White Chocolate– Add a handful of white chocolate chips or drizzle with melted white chocolate.
  • Dark Chocolate– Dark chocolate with strawberries is always a winning combo. Drizzle the treats with melted dark chocolate.
  • Sprinkles– Stir in your favorite colorful sprinkles!
  • Freeze Dried Raspberries– If you can’t find freeze dried strawberries, you can use freeze dried raspberries.
  • Almond Extract– add a little splash of almond extract.
